Youth worker turned marketer.

I'm Kanaar. Enterprise Account Manager at Moz. Creator of SEO Comms Clinic. Host at MozCon NYC 2026. Moderator at BrightonSEO UK. Based in Kildare, Ireland.
I spent years in community youth work before I ever saw a GA4 dashboard. The community came first. Then the harder work of keeping the relationships, communicating value again and again, re-energising the room when the funding, the mood, or the underlying story shifted.
Everything I've built since, from Soul Talk to SEO Comms Clinic, sits on one skill. Helping people find the difficult thing to say and helping them say it well. Most of the parties in a client room walk in protective, holding cards. That posture blocks forward progress. Intentional, strategic communication dissolves it. That is the work.

At Moz I sit at the intersection of data and revenue. Enterprise SEO teams in one room. The people who sign the retainer in the other. Two rooms, the same conversation phrased differently.
SEO Comms Clinic is where I put the parts that don't fit inside a platform sale. FREDA is the reply-grade rubric. Not a checklist. Every element gets a score for how well it lands, because in a client reply presence isn't enough. Degree is what decides whether the account stays.
I built it because the last eighteen months of AI disruption have hit top-tier agencies and in-house teams unevenly. Some people launched new revenue streams. Others lost flagship clients, budgets, jobs. Even the winners tell me acquisition is fine, but contracts are smaller. When contracts shrink, retention stops being a metric and starts being the whole game. That's the shift no one is naming out loud. This is the tool for the people living inside it.
I moderate at BrightonSEO. I host at MozCon NYC 2026. I write at Foundation Lab and on Medium. I run a podcast when the guest is worth the hour.

Four named artefacts, one operating system. FREDA the rubric. The Retention Loop the cadence. The Value Audit the diagnostic. The Decision OS the container.
